Friend memes?! Me? That's cRazy!

I don't usually do this kind of stuff, but I was bored. Sue me.

1. Leave me a comment saying anything random, like your favorite lyric to your current favorite song. Or your favorite kind of sandwich. Something random. Whatever you like.
2. I respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better.
3. You will update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this explanation and offer to ask someone else in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be asked, you will ask them five questions.

1. What are five products that you use daily?
Products? Like what? Shampoo? Electronics?

I suppose:
My Dell laptop, my Zune, Pert shampoo, my feet, shirts.

That kind of stuff?

2. Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Hopefully still alive. I can't think that far out...2017 is really far away. Lots can happen in that amount of time. Hopefully I would find myself working somewhere I enjoy and not going crazy.

3. If you could tell a younger version of yourself something, what would you tell them?
"Relax, stay calm. Take risks. Have confidence in yourself. Take risks. And remember this quote: 'You were once shoved headfirst through someone's vagina. Why are you acting so dignified?'."

I'd probably also tell the little bastard to try and find some tact somewhere, 'cuz I could always use more of that.

4. Do you collect anything? If so, what?
Peace. I collect peace. Never seem to be able to hold onto it, though. Irony, as well; though, they tend to stick around.

Anime and music, as well. I'm sure that that's more what you were looking for with the question...gotta learn to pick up on that quicker.

Oh, and opinions. Have those in spades. I enjoy learning about other people's opinions and then incorporating some of their arguments into my own thought process. It doesn't always work because of my lack of extended memory for things like that and my seemingly waining ability to express myself properly.

5. What scares you?
Being alone or disliked. Those, and raptors.

1. I know you're quite into games and anime and you undoubtedly have favorite characters, but what about pairings? Do you have any "OTPs"/particular favorites?
Well, not especially. Other than the obvious Kyon/Haruhi and Ron/Hermione shipping, I don't do a lot of that anymore. At least, not consciously. I should not that a lot of the game I play aren't exactly story based (because I don't like playing RPGs, I'm sure), so there's not a lot of shipping to be done in games like Metroid or Smash Bros. or Halo or Burnout. Of the games with story that I do play (Half-Life 2, Eternal Darkness) there's not a lot of interpersonal relationships. I get most of that kind of stuff from anime: Haruhi, Kanon, Onegai Teacher, Elfen Lied, Fullmetal Alchemist, School Rumble, Yakitate!! Japan (albeit limited), Great Teacher Onizuka come to mind as examples that at one point or another that made me want to "ship" a particular couple, though those feelings are typically limited in scope and really only there when I'm thinking about the anime; I won't go out of my way to proclaim one way or the other. Then again, Haruhi was good enough that I spend a lot of idle time thinking about that universe in general, so I don't really know what's going on there.

2. You are to recruit a balanced battle party of up to 6 fandom characters to save the world/universe. Members can come from any video game, anime, manga, etc. Please give a brief explanation of each of your choices.
Balanced battle party? So, like, no gods or super geniuses? That kinda limits the choices, there, Nara. That immediately excludes Haruhi and Ender Wiggin, and without either of those it's no fun at all. Though, I'm not sure Haruhi would go along with it, anyway...

Anyway, here's the list (but your rules are lame so I disregarded them):

1. Ender Wiggin. He's saved the universe/world/what-have-you more times than you can count and is, quite frankly, by far the most badass, intelligent, philosophical, and understanding person EVER. I suppose that's because of the delivery medium (literature) of his exploits: impossible people can exist. But from the point of fandom, I can't think of anyone better to share a foxhole with. Metaphorically, of course.

I can't think of anyone else, really, but I'm sure Ender would have a team in mind anyway, so....yeah.

3. Your life is a video game, and you are the hero. Who are your companions, and what roles do they serve in your battle party? Who is/are the villain(s)?
See, this question is horribly biased against the types of game I play: that being, of course, not RPGs. Lots of games I play have no "hero", per se, or don't follow the whole "band of misfits fighting justly against an unjust enemy" standard. Those kinds of stories in games and anime and movies I tend to shy away from because they're so formulaic. Kenshin, Naruto, Bleach, Final Fantasy, Xenosaga(s), Jak(s), and games/anime like that don't really interest me because usually there's no chance of them losing, there's no suspense, really. Games like Eternal Darkness I enjoy because of the fact that the "heroes" rarely actually survive and are built with character flaws in mind; and I'm talking actual character flaws that go beyond arrogance or triviality. Actual, breathing characters are the kind that I'm drawn to: characters from the Ender's Game series, for instance. I am, in fact, drawn more to the universe the games are played in than the individuals involved in many cases. The concept of a band of friends working tirelessly against an unnamed and evil, evil, group of people is something reserved for the kind of media I don't really indulge in; the good guys are clearly marked, the bad guys are clearly marked, and their motives are rarely beyond the dichotomy of good and evil. I enjoy learning about people, and if the media spends a majority of the time on the quest or other stuff, I lose interest. This is contrasted by the fact that many of the games I play are one-shot-two-shot affairs: there's not a lot of story to be had or found or created in Burnout. Most of the time, I play the game to play the game, just for the experience. Sometimes the story is second-hand; other times it's not. Zelda: Twilight Princess is one game I played for the story but kept coming back from the game: the story was good and not formulaic (Bleach, Naruto, etc.) in its story methods or execution.

If I contradicted myself or confused the reader in that process, I apologize. I am a complicated person and rarely able to explain these things very well. Probably because I barely know how to describe it to myself, let alone others.

4. Same question I askedsaffdragon: Name one video game you'd like to see either a prequel or follow-up to (but where it's extremely unlikely that there'll ever be one). What would be the general plotline? What event(s)/character(s) would you like to see featured in this game?
I would love to see a sequel/prequel/other story based in the Eternal Darkness universe, but I know Silicon Knights is working on Too Human for the 360, so after those games (which look bloody brilliant, btw), perhaps they'll revisit ED.

5. Do you plan to do anything exciting/unusual in college (eg. study abroad)? What are your plans for after graduation? Any idea where you'd ideally like to work for your first full-time job?
I hope to look into study abroad programs while at college, though my immense laziness may form a barrier to that. Hopefully I'll also get more involved into the clubs and stuff at school and meet some more people. This will take actual effort, though, so I hope I actually follow through. That in and of itself will qualify as exciting/unusual for me, so huzzah. If I don't, I give anyone reading this permission to beat me until I comply.

Plans after graduation? I don't know, it seems to far away; I can't think of anything. Same for the first job after college. Check my response to Lisa's "10 years" question.
