New Chapter!!

This time...Addison reflects back on her day, making a somewhat rash decision.

I'm boosting the rating on this chapter up to NC 17, though, the majority of it is PG 13.

Addison’s head was spinning. She didn’t know what to do or say or even if she could believe it. The only thing she knew was that before she let anyone else into this, she had to know what “this” was. Her entire world had been flipped over, yet again and t seemed that no matter what, life always took her by surprise-sometimes it was for the better, sometimes it was for the worse and sometimes she didn’t know which category her current circumstances fell into. This was one of those uncategorized things. She swallowed hard and bit down on her bottom lip, pressing her eyes shut and saying a prayer-something she hadn’t done since she was fourteen. She hoped that she was making the right choice and she hoped that she knew what she was doing. She knew that she couldn’t run away from this and she couldn’t hide forever, but for just a little while, she needed to get away, to take a break and to be able to sit back and sort out her thoughts, because to say that she was merely confused was a vast understatement.

Derek was first to wake up that morning. For a while, he just laid there beside her, watching her sleep and thinking about how beautifully uncomplicated this whole situation was turning out to be. It had been so long since his primary focus had been on her and his love for her and it was a refreshing change. With a devilish grin, an idea crept into his head-something he hadn’t done since they were first married.

Slowly his hand traveled down her flat stomach, pushing up her t-shirt slightly as his fingers trailed into the top of her pajama bottoms. He loosened the drawstrings and slid his hand further down. He grinned at her and slowly moved his fingers down inside her panties. Gently and slowly, his fingers began to rub her soft tissue and slowly, Addison began to squirm. Though she didn’t wake, he could feel her arousal and when he began to rub her clit between his thumb and forefinger, a soft moan escaped her lips. He continued to rub, constantly adjusting the pressure between light and hard.

“Mmmm…Derek…” He heard her say, as her head turned from one side of the pillow to the other, but still, she wasn’t awake..

Encouraged, he pulled her pajama bottoms down over her hips and smiled as a still-sleeping Addison kicked them to the floor. He pulled her panties to the side and continues rubbing the soft, warm and damp tissue. This time, he used two fingers, keeping the pressure on and causing her to squirm and moan under his touch. He slid one finger inside of her, still keeping the pressure on her clit. He could see her breathing becoming more and more erratic and knew that she’d be waking up soon. Smiling, he readjusted himself so that instead of being at her side, he was positioned between her legs.

“Oooh…”

He looked up her body; her eyes were still closed, but there was a smile on her lips. Her cheeks were flushed and her eyes fluttered, but she didn’t wake up.

As Derek blew his warm breath on her inner thigh, as his lips moved closer to their target. And then, in one deliberate swoop, his tongue made contact with her clit, sending shockwaves through her body. He licked and sucked, as his fingers rubbed around the surrounding tissue and she withered beneath him.

Addison’s eyes fluttered opened and a gasp escaped her lips. “Oh, oh, God, Derek…” She felt an orgasm nearing. She pressed her head hard back into the pillow and her fingers tangled themselves in the sheets. She felt Derek’s hand reach up and hold the tips of her fingers. She smiled, swallowing hard, as Derek’s tongue continued its pleasant assault on her.

She cried out as an orgasm thrashed over her body. Smiled Derek continued, not stopping until she was done. Finally, her orgasm subsided and he crawled back up the bed, settling beside her.

“Good morning,” he told her, gently tracing her face with his fingers.

Breathlessly, she turned her head to look at him. “I’ll say.” He smiled, kissing her forehead, allowing her some time to catch her breath. “Thank you for the…um…wake-up call,” she said shyly.

“It was my pleasure,” he said, leaning in to kiss her. But before his lips made contact with hers, her cell phone rang. She nearly jumped to reach for it and saw Naomi’s number flash across the screen.

“I have to take this…its Naomi and its important…I’m sorry…”

He settled for a quick kiss. “It’s okay.” He rolled out of bed. “I’ll give you some privacy and go take a cold shower,” he said with a laugh. Addison grinned at him. “But we’ll continue this very uncomplicated exchange later.”

“I need a favor.”

Callie looked up, “Okay.”

Addison grabbed her by the hand and pulled her into an empty exam room. “I need you to draw my blood-I’d do it myself, but my hands are too shaky.”

Callie watched Addison for a moment-she was shaky. She looked nervous, too. Not the flustered, I’m-dating-my-ex-and-pretending-that’s-uncomplicated-and-that-I’m-not-scared-out-of-my-mind type nervous she’d been for the last few weeks, but a completely different sort of nervous. “Are you okay? You’re not sick are you?”

“No…no, it’s nothing like that.” Addison sat down and concentrated on rolling up her sleeve.

“There’s nothing wrong, but you want me to draw your blood?”

Addison nodded, “That’s right.”

“Okay, then.” Callie started to prepare the needle. “Okay, you know the drill…make a fist.” Addison did as she was told and Callie felt for a vein. “You’re sure that you’re okay, though, right?” Addison nodded. “Then why do you…” Callie stopped mid-sentence and looked at Addison. Addison stared back, wondering if Callie had figured it out. “You don’t…think that you…” she paused, pulling the needle from Addison’s arm. “You don’t…have… or think that you have…you know…something…”

“Something?” Addison asked with raise eyebrows.

“You know…like…”

“Like an STD?” Addison gasped. Callie nodded and Addison stared at her with wide eyes. “Gee, Callie, tell me what you really think of me.”

Callie taped a piece of gauze to Addison’s arm. “It’s not so much what I think of you, but…well, Meredith’s been around the block a few times. And since she and…”

“Callie!” Addison blurted out laughing.

“What? You know it’s true.”

Still laughing, Addison shook her head. “No, Meredith didn’t give me an STD.”

“Good.” Callie said, leaning against the bed. “So, then what’s up with the blood?”

Addison sighed, “It’s…complicated.”

Addison was standing in front of the nursery staring inside in an almost dream-like trance. She stared out at the bundles of pink and blue; there was a slight smile on her face as she thought of what could be-each little bundle held so much hope and so much potential.

“Dr. Montgomery?” Olivia said as she approached the attending. Addison didn’t seem to hear the nurse. “Dr. Montgomery?” She asked again.

This time, Addison heard her and turned around. “Yes?”

“I have those test results that you wanted.”

Addison stared at the envelope. “Thank you, Olivia.”

The nurse relinquished the envelope and disappeared into the hallway, leaving Addison alone to open them. Addison held her breath and broke the seal. She stared down at them.

“Oh, God…” She folded the paper back up and stuck it in the envelope and again focused on the nursery. The impossible had happened-four over-the-counter pregnancy tests and a blood test all stood as proof to it.

Before she could even process it-or make an attempt to, she felt someone standing beside her. Looking over she groaned.

“Aren’t you leaving?” She asked, trying to keep any emotion out of her voice in an attempt to hide the surge of emotion she was feeling throughout her entire body.

“Not for a few more hours and how tacky would it be for me to just leave without saying goodbye to my only daughter.”

Addison rolled her eyes. “I think I would have survived it.”

“Hmm, perhaps.” He looked over at her, “Why did you choose this profession?”

Slowly, Addison turned her head to look at her father. “Excuse me?”

“What made you think to go into medicine?”

Addison looked away, not wanting to admit that she originally did it to impress him, though, that attempt had gone unnoticed. “The pay was good.”

The other Dr. Montgomery scoffed. “Oh.”

“Why do you care? Especially now…shouldn’t you have been asking me this, oh, I don’t know, when I applied to med school?”

He laughed slightly, which only annoyed Addison. “It’s a good thing you never had children.” He looked over at his daughter, “It wouldn’t have been fair.”

Addison stared at him with wide and hurt eyes, “Why would you say that to me?”

“You’re too much like me, Addison. You would have been the same kind of parent that I was-working seventy and eighty hour weeks, completely career-driven…you wouldn’t have had time for a family.” He shook his head, looking away from her and into the nursery, “You would have come home one night and realized that your three-year-old had started college.” Addison swallowed hard and wondered how it was that he always had an uncanny knack of saying exactly the wrong thing. She also wondered if he was right. “I’m a geneticist, Addison-and I know that you’re too much like me.” He didn’t say anything more; he just turned and walked away from her. Slowly, Addison looked down at her test results and then back up at the nursery. “Oh, God…”

The only thing Addison knew was that she had to tell Derek. At some point, he was going to find out and she didn’t want to have to explain a multitude of complicated reasons of why she didn’t tell him about the baby-his baby, their baby. So, as she walked into the Emerald City Bar that evening, she debated about when and how she was going to do that. For a short while, this could be her little secret, if she wanted it to be. Surely, this was bound to complicate things, but she didn’t know if complicating things would be a good or a bad thing. Sure, the connotation suggested something bad, but this had been something they’d always wanted-this was their impossible miracle-not just hers, theirs. In the last few weeks, Derek had been wonderful. He’d been understanding of her worries and insecurities and loving and sweet towards her and all things he’d once been. Who was to say that just because of this things had to get complicated, anyway, she asked herself as she pulled the bar door open. She took a deep breath and then stepped in the bar, resolving that she was going to tell him. But no sooner than she stepped in, all the positive thoughts and confidence she’d built up on the way in from the parking lot vanquished because no sooner than she stepped in, she saw Meredith lean in and kiss Derek. For a split second, she froze. Unable to watch, she turned around and walked out.

“Final boarding call for American Airlines flight 546, non-stop from Seattle, Washington to New York, New York,” the flight attendant announced over the loud speaker.

Addison stood up and picked up her carry-on bag. She took a deep breath and looked outside at the rain pouring down outside. She shook her head; the day had started out with such promise. Seattle was a complete nightmare for her, but she couldn’t just leave it. There was too much to give up on, too much unsaid and too much to just left go of. She was coming back; this wasn’t a permanent fix. She knew that running away wasn’t an option nor would it solve anything. Running away would only further complicate things. She just needed some time alone, some time to think and some time to figure out where she would go from here.
