Have been reading my old LiveJournal entries (I downloaded them before deleting them) and WOAH was I annoying. Way too many emoticons, "jokes" that aren't funny, way too much capslock, etc. It's totally cringe-y, but at the same time I'm glad I kept a journal and interacted with people online and whatnot. One, because now I can read about what I was doing when I was 17 or so. Two, because though I was a semi-loser back then, I DID have online friends who commented pretty regularly. Yay! And three, it's nice to have a record of what I was like way back when.
I keep a paper journal off and on nowadays, but mainly I only write in it when something actually happens. Sometimes not even then! I mean, how exciting is a trip to the mall, eh? But the things that I think are boring now tend to be precious five+ years in the future. I've got a book blog that I write for every week, but I don't have a real life blog.
So I thought I'd keep one! Livejournal is kinda dead (fandom-wise, anyway, everyone's moved to Tumblr/AO3/Dreamwidth), and so even though I've been on there since 2005 (earlier if you count my other journals) I figure I better move with the times. I'll crosspost just in case of...something. idk.
So! What will I post about? Real life stuff. Fandom stuff. Intermingling of the two? (I'd LIKE to be more open about my fandom things IRL but I still haven't gotten over the urge to hide my porn from everyone.) Videos I like, pictures, memes (do people still do those?), whatever. To really make this stick I should post at least every other day, so: I will! Not everything will be public, but some of it will.
Yay!
