011. happy thanksgiving!

To everyone in the US. I've eaten all my turkey and shoveled in a few pounds of pie, so I'm perfectly set to watch more Doctor Who stuff (and maybe rewatch Sherlock again).

Since after the Christmas episode we won't have any more DW for at least a year (or more?), I think I'm going to spend my time watching the old school DW series. I've actually already seen a good chunk of it...sort of. I've seen all of 7's run (Ace!) except for the very end, the movie, the first serial, and some of the 2nd and 4th Doctor's episodes. Maybe one or two of the 5th? What I really want to do is see everything that's available, in order. A lot of the 1st Doctor's stuff is missing, but I think I can do it! Depending on what's happening next year I may be able to even see all of it. That'd be exciting.

I also want to listen to more of the audio adventures. I've listened to two or three and they're very good, especially the ones with the actual TV actors doing the voices of the Doctors/companions. I think those, plus the old series, should keep me occupied for a year...and if they don't I can always distract myself with more Sherlock stuff!

Sometimes I'm surprised I managed to keep myself in the Sherlock fandom for so long. I started roughly around the time the show first aired, and I haven't flagged yet. With my other fandoms (DW, nu!Star Trek, Merlin, SH09 which is really part of the Sherlock Holmes fandom but not part of the SHERLOCK fandom, if you know what I mean) I've still been interested in reading fic and stuff, but I haven't NEEDED to find new fic like I do with Sherlock. I'm so glad that people are still interested enough in the series to be writing quality fic so long after the show first aired! And I hope the people that went away from Sherlock come back when the new series airs, too. :(

ANYWAY. Back to reading fic.
