006. numbers
I keep copies of my favorite fics and fanart on my computer, because I know all too well that sometimes sites go down, authors delete their journals, and/or the apocalypse happens and then your favorite fics aren't available any longer and it's terrible. So, okay: my Sherlock Holmes collection is pretty large, since I've been in the fandom for at least two years now. Here's the numbers between the different incarnations:
Fanfics:
BBC Sherlock: 120 items
2009 Movie: 11 items
Books: 25 items
Granada: 1 item
Now, admittedly my numbers are slightly off because some fics are multi-chaptered which means a separate file for each chapter, and then some series are in a folder together which my thing counts as ONE item, but basically BBC Sherlock wins as having the most saved fics. This is good, because I enjoy BBC Sherlock a lot. But it's bad, because I feel terrible for not having a lot of the other incarnations' fics, too.
The RDJ Holmes movie is what initially got me into the fandom in the first place! And I only have 11 fics saved? For shame. The Granada series gets mixed in with the books' world a lot but to only have one definite Granada fic is really sad, too.
But basically all the really good authors are either writing BBC Sherlock or book fandom. There's maybe one or two really good RDJ movie authors that I've found.
I don't know where I'm going with this. Um. I want more RDJ Holmes fics that are on par with the really excellent BBC Sherlock fics, I guess?
