One would like to think that the hurricane related issues are over and life is back to normal on this little island, but it's not. The wounds continue to show and to fester. My friend LaWanna was quick to remind me that for the moment, there wasn't even a place on the island to buy a bra!
But we're here, we're muddling through. The kids are trying to act like none of this happened. At the same time, many of them are living in places they didn't live two weeks ago, with things they didn't have two weeks ago, with many of their personal effects in soggy messes on the streets of Key West.
It's a rough life down here, yet we try to go about the business of education, knowing that sometimes there is just too much life getting in the way.
