Teacher in Paradise, Part I

8/11/05 I write this on the Thursday of the first week as the new 9th grade language arts teacher at Key West High School. Each morning and each afternoon, the cheery voice on the PA reminds us "It's another great day in paradise

how crazy. I still don't think I believe it, but wow, it's real, huh?!

Oh my yes!It is so very real. Sometimes school here reminds me of an episode of "Welcome Back Kotter"

The best tho, is to have a kid say to me "I'm gonna work real hard for you, Ma'am, cuz you're my favorite teacher."

The worst, tho is, finding out the pouring rainstorm is not only soaking you since you're outside, but it's also highlighting the leaks in the roof.

I will post pictures of my classroom when it's in shape.
