We are here. Not there.
Everyone approves of the new apartment. Even the cats have finally slunk forth from beneath the bed and have begun destroying the carpet, so I know they approve of the place as well. After a year of living apart, we are under one roof, and spending less time in the car. It takes me 10 minutes to get to work in the morning, and Tris' school is just 2 miles away. M is going back to the Athens house this weekend to do the final cleaning and conduct the movers. They will arrive Sunday, and then we (and our stuffs) will be officially and wholly, relocated.
The refinance went through just a few weeks back. Dropped from 6.125% to 4.75%. This will drop our mortgage by about $150 a month, which will offset the increased rent of living in Atlanta. I am the break-even artist. As long as our future-tenants pay their rent on time, and keep their complaints to a minimum, things are looking swell.
Tomorrow, Tris and I will locate the pool, drop a package off at the post, visit the library, and maybe a bookstore. I usually try to wear the shit out of him so that it is less of a wrestling match getting him asleep at night. We had take-out from the neighborhood restaurant while watching Disney's Robin Hood tonight. Pricey, but decent and within walking distance.
M finally got the Internets up and working at our house. We have U-verse now, which I'm looking forward to, as opposed to Overlord Charter Cable Company.
Found out on FB through Clint that my step-mom was fired from Central Private after teaching there for 35 years. No party, no 'will you please resign', no gold watch......just, 'you are no longer required'. After 35 years. What assholes.
I am so glad to be out of Athens.
