Given that I'm scared of spiders, it's kind of great that I wasn't scared of my own costume
Today was Halloween. I did what I do every year: get dressed up in the most spectacularly awesome costume ever, and then just sort of go get a coffee and run some errands, in a spectacularly awesome costume. This year, I was Sarah Jane Smith in Planet Of The Spiders.
I still think it's not a bad outfit, considering it's a shirt from the Gap, jacket from Banana Republic, and trousers from Old Navy, and the only alteration I made was hemming like 6" off the bottom of the trousers because I'm so darn short. I'm also uncharacteristically wearing Sarah's blue eye shadow and like 3 coats of mascara, for added 70s-fabulousness. The spider queen was a cheapo Halloween prop and had bendy legs that I used to secure her on my shoulders. And to top it all off, there was a guy at the video store in the mall actually knew who Sarah was. Yesssss!
