Honestly, I very much see the Doctor's relationship to, well, relationships, as something that changes in the same way that other parts of his personality change from one regeneration to another - and Eleven just seems to play it very asexual: the business with romance and boner allusions and stuff feel really out of character. It feels like sometimes there's a disconnect between the way it's written and the way it's played for this reason. That's not to say that anybody's not doing a good job, but there's a strange disconnect there that I can't reconcile.
I don't LIKE to be spoiled, but it's genuinely impossible to avoid. Plus, the series sets us up to speculate by giving us these long-running mysteries in the first place. They expect fans to concoct crack theories as it goes along by giving us these little hints that THERE IS SOMETHING CRAZY GOING ON WHAT COULD IT BE and so even when the solution is something quite lovely, it's always going to feel a bit of a, like, "oh, that's it then," because they set up so much hype. It's impossible not to overhype unless, like, you avoid the internet altogether and bingewatch the entire arc for the first time in one go. But I'm also easily swayed by OH LOOK IT'S COLIN BAKER I LOVE EVERYTHING so shrug.
Also I don't know what I'm feeling because I genuinely have no idea whether or not I'm going to be homeless *sobbing*
Matt has even said he sees the Doctor as asexual...dunno what is going on with that, but then I generally go with the flow and enjoy. Eleven is on of my favs, so I might have a tendency to handwave, lol!!
This. My gods, the spoilers I have to duck and weave around! Yeesh. And when one is depressed, scared and panicking, that generally sucks the joy out of everything (trust me, I know this one). I'm keeping my finges crossed for you, honey and hopinghopinghoping.
