[Bryn has been cured for almost a full week now, and while the boat hasn't returned to normal it's calmed enough for Bryn to feel steady on her feet again. With the new engagement ring on her finger and an injured brother to check in on every day, she's distracted enough to not brood as much about the revelations of the Halloween party as much.
That is of course, until she heads into Kuma-ko and sees Jamie sitting there.
Last time she'd tried to ask questions, he'd avoided her answers and wouldn't even look at her. Bryn walks over to his table with a deep breath, intending to try again.]
[Glad she doesn't have to badger him into it, Bryn tries to figure out where to start. She overheard quite a bit while on deck 76 but the answers were more big-picture.]
Why'd you do it? Why did you agree to kill all those people?
[She breathes deeply, and sighs. Her head drops down and she slowly draws her hands into her lap, out of sight.]
So, all those people who left the ship. No one's come back remembering they were ever here until you...what happened to the people who left, Jamie?

[His voice breaks, but it's more because he's never had to talk about this before and less because he wants to cry.]
I was scared of dying. I didn't feel like there was a choice.

That thing...it showed us that vision. You didn't look scared.
[Her tone isn't accusing, but it's clear Bryn can't completely reconcile the mental picture she has of him now and the one that thing had shown them.]

[He realizes that was probably not a good thing to say.]
I was probably high. Or... something.

I never would have thought you'd be capable of such a thing...
[She breaths deeply and taps her fingers on the table top, pausing to wring them together every so often.]
So we're all that's left, and Redd is taking us to the Golden Shore. It actually exists? We'll be safe there like Kage said?
