[Looking a little shame-faced, the Doctor begins a new video recording.]
I'd like to apologize to everyone for my absence - particularly the infirmary staff. It wasn't my intention to just disappear like I did.
[He pauses here, hesitant to explain what happened, but decides everyone has a right to know. Just as long as too many questions aren't asked.]
I was attempting to run a self-diagnostic when we put in to port. My program's autonomous controls were overridden and it was transferred to my mobile emitter -
[He holds up the object in question.]
- where it destabilized.
[He sets the device down again and leans forward in his chair.]
As you can see, the situation has been resolved, thanks to the efforts of Toshiko Sato - who is a very capable young woman, if I do say so myself.
[He's trying to exude his normal pleasant (or pleasant enough) attitude, but falters. Some of his usual zest seems to be missing today.]
I'll be back in the infirmary for my shift tomorrow.
[Private to Martha and Sveta, respectively.]
I wonder if we could talk?
[Private to Data]
Commander, I see you sent me a communication while I was offline. No, I was't aware of Mr. Holmes' proclivities. Is everything all right?
[Private to Omega]
