He was making a mixture of some new creole dishes with some old favorites, including a half pig grilled out on the smoker he'd talked Aziraphale into putting out on the patio ( Read more... )

Marie figured that after being in town for three days, she really should spend some time with her dads, so she headed over to their place, completely unsurprised to discover them cooking in mass quantity. Some things never changed.

She headed over to the keg, poured herself a beer, kicked off her shoes and sat down to relax.

Looking up from where he was prepping some spice marinated portabello mushrooms for the grill -since over half this food he wasn't going to eat himself- Wilson smiled broadly.

"Well, well, well ... look what the northern winds blew in!"

Aziraphale was already grinning ear to ear at Marie's appearance, and he set aside his paper.

"What, no hugs for the old men?" he teased.

Marie laughed, but set her beer down and got up to give the requested hugs to both. "It's good to see you both again," she said.

Wilson had to return a careful hug, since his hands were covered in marinating goo but he gave Marie an extra squeeze at the end.

"It's wonderful to see you, sweetening how have you been settling in?"

Aziraphale also gave Marie a warm hug, and added a kiss to her forehead before turning her loose. Instead of bombarding her with questions from all directions, he decided to fetch her a snack to enjoy while the cooking was being done, and let her answer Wilson's question first.

"I'm settling in well," Marie said. "I ran into Pip and Pippi the other day and I've been staying with Lana, like I said in my messages. She invited me to move into her house and I've accepted. I'll probably move in later this week."

Wilson winked towards the angel.

"Told you we were too noisey for her," he said playfully.

"Really, my dear," Aziraphale chuckled, shaking his head as he set down a plate of moddable snacks in front of Marie. "I expect she'll just have a bit more in common with people closer to her own age. After all, who wants to live with their parents their whole life?"

Marie snickered. "I figured that having your adult daughter move back in after so long might cramp your style," she teased. "Besides, Lana's housemate is pretty hot."

Wilson arched an eyebrow and looked over at Aziraphale.

"Isn't that your young friend?"

"Mr Winchester?" Aziraphale said.

He cocked his head to the side, as if pondering the potential 'hotness' of the young man in question. "Quite. I suppose he is rather good looking. Does that mean we need to ban Marie from living there?" he asked teasingly. "Oh, James, did you know that he has a car?"

Marie raised an eyebrow. "Your young friend?" she questioned. "Is there something you two haven't been telling me?"

"Oh good heavens, no!" Aziraphale exclaimed. "It isn't like that. He just comes by the Leaf now and again. And helped me out with the news broadcast."

He gave Wilson a Look.

Marie giggled. "I was just teasing."

Wilson maintained a perfectly innocent expression through all of this, though he did enjoy watching poor Aziraphale squirm.
