Wilson was beginning to wonder if his charms had been replaced by an old book, given how intently Aziraphale had been studying it recently

The last few weeks had been rather eventful and Marie hadn't had a chance until now to check in with her dad. And, given what some of those events were, a phone call to him was definitely in order.

Busy chopping up a lobster tail, Wilson hummed along with the music he had dropped into the player today but he had his cell phone close, in case there was an emergency at the clinic so with a quick wipe of his hands on a dishtowel, he flipped it open.
"Wilson," he answered in a relaxed, if slightly distracted tone.
"I don't know if the latest news made it down there... but, um... they developed a cure for mutants." There was a long pause. "I took it. I don't have my powers anymore."

For a few moments, Wilson was quiet.
He wasn't entirely sure how to respond because for him, Marie's powers were a part of her and her news was almost like having her tell him that she'd decided to cut off a leg or an arm. But he quickly, mentally kicked himself as he realized she had obviously made the decision to take this 'cure' so it had been her choice.
Even if he wasn't certain how he felt about that choice.
"I ... see. Is it safe? Any side effects?" Okay the doctor in him crept out a little. "I'm sorry, doctor in me talking there. Are you ... happy?"
"I think so," Marie replied. "I haven't had any side effects yet."
She paused for a moment. "Thing is... with the Professor being gone and me not being a mutant anymore... I don't really think that staying at Xavier's is the best option for me right now."
"That's what I thought," Marie said. "I've got a few things to take care of here, but how about sending me info so I can book a flight in the next few weeks?"

There was the sound of scuffling about as Wilson located a pen and paper.
"Give me your current e-mail address and I'll send everything to you immediately," he promised, excitement and genuine joy at the idea of seeing her again evident in his voice.
"Oh! What color would you like your room to be?" Because she had to know that the two 'dads' would be busy nesting in an attempt to pass the time till she arrived.
"I probably shouldn't use my Xavier's address anymore," Marie said, giving him a gmail address instead. She also knew that protesting on the room thing was a waste of breath. "I don't know. Green, I guess?"

Most likely a great waste of breath.
"Green it is then," Wilson said, obviously making a note beside her e-mail addy.
He paused then, because he had a bunch of questions but he wasn't sure about pestering her across the phone with them. They could probably wait till she came ... well, till she came home.
"So, you're being careful up there right? Do you need anything else from me, till you can get here?"

She had no idea if he had heard any of the news about the cure being available or not.

Totally bracing himself to hear Marie about to tell him she was getting married.
It was a father type of thing.
"Oh? What's up?"

Slowly though ... in sank in.
"Oh? ... Oh! Uh, I mean did you have plans on where you might want to go?"

Yes, she already knew what the answer to that was going to be.

"Marie, that would be wonderful! Especially as Raphale and I are back in the States now."
