[ooc: warning, this post contains spoilers for tonight's episode of House, 'Need To Know'. There are OBVIOUS parts of canon that we're ignoring at this point, in TM.]
House, after his long brooding session on the roof, had chased his friend down in the parking lot and told Wilson that in a sense, the other man was right. He was afraid of change.
But he knew that Stacy leaving Princeton, going back to Short Hills, was for the best. For all involved. Mark would get his wife, Stacy would have her husband, and the awkward attraction that wasn't really there would go away, once and for all. Besides, House had Brittany. House would never stray from her and didn't want to.
But he was willing to celebrate.
And celebration was tucked into a small plastic bag in his inner coat pocket. One hand rolled, high quality, medical marijuana joint. From his good friend, and prescribing doctor. Sure, it hadn't been prescribed to him, but it didn't take much for House to convince Wilson that he would be fine with just one.
Hopping off the bike, he might have a had a bit more of a spring in his step, as he walked through the front door, tossing a look over his shoulder at his friend Kyle's car in their driveway. A sweep through the house revealed it was empty, and after arming himself with a lighter and three bottles of beer, he tucked the joint behind his ear and headed out into the backyard, where his wife and friend were obviously discussing something while throwing a football across the lawn.
They both looked at him. He looked at them, then cracked the top off the first beer and slugged about half of it back, before he announced.
"She's leaving."
