This entry, I will cut, because it's going to have some pretty big spoilers from the season finale, but soon enough I'm not going to be cutting things in his personal journal unless someone (anyone, this is your chance to speak up now) would like me to label spoilers for season two

No problem. Emma has been dying to help him. We could work something out where she acknowledges his wishes and makes the pain go away -- but remember, Emma isn't a healer. She's only playing mind-tricks and making House think he has no pain, so anytime we want it to come back, it could. Would that work?

Right. Though he doesn't *have* pain, it's the need for the drugs. There would have to be physical side effects, to detoxing, obviously, but if she could make it so he didn't feel the pain from *those* while he was like, say, out cold for a week to get it out of his system, it would help him.

And I think he knows she needs to do something or she'll go crazy. XD

Also, Mike could probably cure addiction -- canon has Nate using his telekinesis to effect changes in brainchemisty and TM Canon has Mike curing nicotine addiction -- provided he was provided with someone who knows how such things work (so he can grab the medical necessities out of their head) although he'd be wary about doing so.
