I know that LJ has seen busier days, especially in this particular quadrant. But I woke up this morning and it suddenly hit me that this Saturday (today) marks five years since The Eleventh Hour was broadcast! Five years ago, I (and loads of other people) sat in my/our _____room(s) in anticipation of this exciting event, new Doctor, new writer, ( Read more... )

I love this episode. Still one I can re-watch and not get tired of it. The music alone is just epic, and the scene where Eleven picks out his new clothes will never not give me chills. Pure magic, from beginning to end. Moff at his strongest. Maybe only Day of the Doctor was better than this.

(I just realized the actress who played the mother of the two little girls is playing the female detective in Broadchurch with David Tennant.)

Can't believe it's been five years already. Wow.

I keep meaning to check out Broadchurch.

I love how you don't see him pick out the bowtie, he just walks through the hologram of the various Doctors already wearing it before telling the Atraxi to run. The entire episode is so epic, yes! I rewatched it earlier and had forgotten the bit where he commandeers the fire truck!

Can't believe it's been five years already. Wow

It's still sinking in...

OOh! All of those folks are in it? I definitely have to check this out now. This is one of the reasons why I love British television. :)

Yes, yes they are :D AD has only a smallish role, but DT is the other 'main' character.

Smallish AD is still AD. :D
And it's on Netflix! Hurrah! Since I got rid of my cable.

Yes, like any good British television show, Broadchurch is full of people who appeared on Doctor Who. Just check out this video from David Tennant: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yvwFufzb5_k

"It also stars Arthur Darvill who played Rory, but it's nothing like Doctor Who!"

That was hilarious! Thank you for the link. I was then sidetracked by vids of James Corden...also on DW. XD

OMG, that video is hilarious!

My friends are currently in the process of DVRing season 2 of Broadchurch, and we'll binge watch when they have all eight. I'm so looking forward to it.

Seriously, it's like the Doctor Who reunion cast.

Oh, that was wonderful. He does have a deft comic touch, with marvelous timing and understatement. I loved it, when he almost lost it over the wobbly, BAFTA-worthy bottom.

This is one of the reasons why I love British television. :)

Why, because there's apparently only about 25 actors in all of Britain? ;)

Broadchurch is a real grab bag of DW alums (and some TW).
