As reported in some tabloids last night, the new companion is a 25-year-old actress named Jenna-Louise Coleman.



She has been in Emmerdale, Waterloo Road, Captain America: The First Avenger, and the upcoming Titanic starting on ITV this Sunday.

If you didn't know who she was, I'm sure we're all about to see very, very much of her.

Supposedly more announcements to come "later this morning" according to Doctor Who Magazine. If I'm still awake, I'll edit them in. If I'm not awake, I'm sure someone else will post them.

P.S. I used a cut for ~suspense~ but this is just a reminder that this community does not consider casting news as a spoiler unless it is the casting of an already-established character/already used actor. We WILL be using the new companion's name (both actor and character when we get the latter) outside of cuts in the future, before series 7 airs.
