Craig Roberts would be AMAZING as a companion. He does troubled, lonely and frustrated very well- just the kind of character that the Doctor would be moved to help.
Also adding Bryan Dick, just because he's completely adorable and I always want to see more of him onscreen. He's best-known for period roles- as Ernie Wise is the BBC's 'Eric and Ernie', and as a dead 1940s pilot in 'Being Human'. I'd love a companion from the 1950s or thereabouts- all stiff-upper-lip and self-reliance.

Bryan Dick was also in Torchwood but he's a good choice too.

Oh man, I'd love to see a 1950s-ish male companion bouncing off a 21st century female companion. You could play off the dymanic of 60s Doctor Who pretty nicely.

ETA: Further to that, because this kept coming up in the previosu post: a 1950s male companion bouncing off a 21st century lesbian companion. :D

YES.
MID-CENTURY COMPANIONS FTW. I've been pining for that old sort of culture clash dynamic again, and seeing a 1950s companion with a 21st century companion would be brilliant.
