Please to be informing: What's the QIA stand for? I know LGBT is Lesbian,Gay, Bisexual,Transgender, but that's the rest?

Queer/Intersex/Asexual. The Q can also stand for 'Questioning'. (And I just saw 'GSM' or 'Gender and/or Sexual Minority' being used on Tumblr the other day. It's like alphabet soup up in here.)

Ahhh...ok another question. What's intersex? Also how exactly goes Queer differ from...well all the alphabet soup that came before it?

Intersex for ya and there are many sexual identities that don't necessarily apply to 'LGB' (pansexual, demisexual, omnisexual and etc.) or gender identities that don't fall in the male/female masculine/feminine binary. Some people use Queer as a catchall term for the people that don't fall under LGBT, but others avoid the term since it's only been reappropriated in the last twenty years or so. So it becomes part of the soup.

In the end, it really depends on who in the community you're talking to when it comes to preferred terminology. I tend to use LGBTQIA because it seems (to me) to be the most easily recognizable acronym.

Oy...wow, why does this all seem WAY more complicated than it should be...or maybe my itty bitty brain is just broke from trying to cram too much infotainment in it.
