Most of you will probably know this already. But Nicholas Courtney (aka the Brig) passed away yesterday at the age of 81.

I believe a moment of silence is required as we mourn this giant of the Whoniverse.

This is... I've literally got tears in my eyes and I never even met Nicholas Courtney. I only adored him as the Brigadier and was cheered by the unanimous opinion of fandom that he was an absolute gentleman (because it would have sucked if he wasn't).

He was one of those people that I expected to always be around. Sort of like John Williams. Fandom has lost a wonderful actor, ambassador, and person.

I've been seeing tributes around the Internet all afternoon and tearing up at every single one. Always loved the Brig.
