6) I wonder what the reasoning will be. I always liked the idea that the Doctor does have a finite lifespan.
For the record, as stated by someone else in these threads, there is no real biological limit to regenerations. Time Lords put restrictions on regenerations of their people for population control purposes, because obviously if they allowed their people to live forever, new births with no deaths would eventually cause overcrowding of the planet. The Master himself burned through his 13 regenerations before the start of the new series in 2005 and yet somehow he was still around to torment the 10th Doctor. It's possible that with Gallifrey gone, the restrictions on the Doctor have been lifted.
8) SEVEN kids? For some reason this has got me wondering if the story's an AU.
I doubt it would be an alternate universe story if they're going to use the episode to cover canon information like the Doctor's regenerations. I think RTD stated that he continued the story as if we never knew what happened to Jo after she left. In other words, he's discounting anything that might've involved Jo in the spin off novels and audios and stuff, making it entirely plausible that she did have that many kids. Seven kids is a bit much but hey, it's not unheard of.
