The episode deals with themes of mental illness and depression; it "goes to some places Doctor Who has never been before".

I am going to be watching you very closely, and if you fuck this up, Who, I will be merciless. If you shatter my heart into tiny pieces with Van Gogh, I may not forgive you.

...oh my god, are you me? I've been obsessing over this for mooooooooons. I will not stand for messing up Van Gogh, there will be fire and ice.

/cheep attempt at a quote reference.

Well, yes. XD (Was also going for the reference, but...stopped because I didn't want to be too obvious? Silly of me, really, I should embrace it.)

Do you, perhaps, have a copy of Tori Amos' version of Starry, Starry Night that makes you very weepy at times?

(And quite possibly have burst into tears in museums when you get to Van Gogh paintings?)

I've never actually heard that song, but the latter thing...yeah, a bit. And tell whoever happens to be with me about what real life story was going on while he painted whatever given painting it is. Also I have an irrational loathing for Gauguin due to seeing Lust for Life too many times at an impressionable age.
