...Is custard the same as pudding? Cause I'd totally do this, I'm just curious if pudding would work cause I've never seen custard in the grocery store in New Mexico.

Real custard is not the same, but the powdered Bird's Custard is pretty similar to vanilla pudding so that's acceptable.
I'm so confused about Americans not being able to find custard? I've made custard before and had custard-filled pastries. I thought it must be a pretty common thing in America but maybe that's just where I live?

I can't recall seein git. But grocery stores in America have this weird thing where less poplated place places don't get nearly the amount of different and new products in thier stores, as higher populated areas. It also depends on prevailing cultures. Wehn I lived in L.A. you could find Hawaiian bread by several different bakers in every grocery store...her in the desert, lucky if I can find the biggest name brand. But you'll find green chile in every stores. I don't get it.

But i'll look again for custard. I might have just missed. Or i could buy a muich of doughnuts and empty them out. ;D

Ah yeah, I live in San Francisco. My custard-filled pastries always came from like, Italian bakeries, and the British custard I found in an Asian grocery store of all places because of Hong Kong formerly being a British colony and all.

It can be as much or as little as you want. I had about a cereal bowl's worth of custard when I did it. As long as I can see you're eating fish stick and custard in the same bite, it qualifies!
