Technically it's NOT a contest - they're inviting people to submit stories and a number of them will be recorded. So there can be several winners.

I'm totally going for it - with Eight and Liz Shaw. ('cos I love mixing up incarnations of the Doctor with companions they didn't travel with!)

I've never written Classic Who, but this absolutely makes me want to!

True but since they're not describing it as a contest (as they did with the Big Finish Short Trips writing contest about 3 years ago) then I prefer to think of it as not a contest! :D

Well exactly! And it just so happens I had a dream about Four and Sarah Jane last night, in the context of an important event in his timeline ...hmmm, maybe brain was trying to tell me something... *strokes pretend beard*

Never written any Classic, but I do have a soft spot for Four. :)

I guess just give it a go; the deadline isn't horrendous, there's a margin for false starts. ;)

For serious, there's nothing to lose, and everything to gain. I've never written any Classic Doctors or companions before, but dang, legit fic; it's too good to pass up! ♥

I'd so be better at writing Eleven-Ian or Ten-Ian because that's totally my thing now. But, new!Who Doctors and all. bawww.

I also wish I could write Adric but someone killed him off and it would take much too much explanation to bring him back. Also, Big Finish already did an Adric thing (though tbh, I didn't find it to be all that) and yet he's still dead.

I know, I can write Ten like it's my job. But I'd like a stab at a Classic Doctor. Five was pretty, but I can't get into his head.

Timey wimey, bb, you can totes use Adric, there's no caveat on using a dead companion. You don't need to bring him back, just set your story during his life.
