NEW PLAN FOR SATURDAY

Jan 26, 2007 16:16

Okay, folks, it's been respectfully pointed out that a popular place like Kell's will be INSANE on Saturday night, and the more I thought about it the more that sounded like a whole lot of no fun.

THUS, and in spite of the old German military saying, "Order, counterorder, disorder," I've concocted a change of plans that's sure to be harder to get to in the first place but easier to kick around once there, with the added bonus of being cheaper, less crowded, and more awesome. The evening will start at...

Mr. Spot's Chai House
in downtown Ballard
5463 Leary Ave NW
Seattle WA 98107
NO COVER
To hear Muse Pagoda, a sort of a funk/soul/jazz thing
8-10PM

I'm planning on arriving at the Chai House around 7:30 and staking a claim. Their web site advertises "Tea, chai, beer, wine, music, scandal," but no food.

BUT THEN! As this band is winding down and our thirst for revelry no doubt unslaked, we shall reconvene around 10:30PM at...

Molly Maguire's Pub & Fine Eatery
Also in Ballard, about half a mile distant (word to Google Maps)
610 NW 65th Street
Seattle, WA 98117
NO COVER
To hear Finn McGinty, a traditional Irish duo, just what I wanted all along
9ish to whenever (not a verbatim quote, but close)

We might head over to Molly Maguire's early if Muse Pagoda isn't as cool as I think or if some of our number are hungry, as they serve food, delicious-sounding food, until 10:00PM. If you're joining us in the 9:00-10:00 range, call first.

So! That sounds much better, truth be told. Seattleites (i.e., Liz), what's the best way to get there?
