Yes, yes...I'm still alive. I've just been busy/distracted for entirely too long. Nothing too interesting in the last part of last year other than faimily drama surrounding Christmas being on a Sunday, so I'll skip to this year.
I'm still working the same place. My boss was fired (rather unprofessionally, in my opinion) back around February. I suppose I've adapted rather well to my new boss. It's taken some time, but we get along alright. I got sent to National Camp School in Ohio this year for a training I didn't really need. I could've been trained by someone who went to camp school and been just as qualified to do the job I've done for four years now. Not that I'm complaining too much; once I get the money and the paperwork sent in, I'll be NRA certified to teach rifle, shotgun, and muzzleloading rifle. After I got back, I was working two jobs - Belzer during the day and Carr at night. Made for a very long summer - only a few hours' sleep a night and no real time to do anything, but I survived. Camp was very interesting this year. I had to yell at my staff almost every day because they weren't listening very well. Then towards the end of camp, I was informed that I was going to have to give up my director's position. That's still messing with my mind, and I'm wondering what this coming summer is going to be like. Anyway, back to this year. Since camp, I'm still on nights. It's not that bad, actually. If I can get up at a decent hour, I've got the daytime hours to get things done, I can stay awake better, and I don't have to deal with quite as much of the stuff that goes on at work during the day. A couple months ago, Carr Metal merged with one of our customers, Precimed. Supposedly, daily business isn't going to change, and production is predicted to go up, rather than down. We'll see...my department's finally getting a little bit of work, but not much. It figures - all summer, the two guys working for/with me were able to get overtime as much as they wanted, but as soon as I'm able to start staying late and getting overtime, there's none to be had. I worked in the CNC department in the other building, running aluminum and steel parts for a while, worked in the assembly room a few nights, and went back to working in silk screening for a few nights as well. I'm hoping we get our OT back soon...I could use the money. Anyway, stuff outside of work is basically the same old stuff. Hopefully I'll be finding more time to update this and talk to/hang out with my friends more soon. In the meantime, I could use y'all's thoughts and prayers while I figure out what I need to do. For now, I'm gonna wrap this up, do a little reading, and hit the sack. I'll make sure it's not another year before I update, so I'll talk to y'all soon!
