OoC: TARDIS retcon/info

U-um, I should've done this back, er, when I watched the 2007/2008 Christmas special for Doctor Who, but better late than never, yeah--?!

So right, yes, a boat (the Titanic) totally busts through the wall of the TARDIS at the end of season three -- which, I'm sure, left many Tenth Doctor RPers both lol'ing and scratching their heads.

Since I joined Island back in September as the Doctor, I think I've had him make the excuse that the TARDIS would heal itself, and that it would do so over time -- I believe I also had the Doctor tell Martha that the Island was inhibiting the TARDIS' natural ability to heal itself, mostly as an excuse for why the Doctor had been there for several weeks (and now months) and still hadn't made any progress.

When the Christmas special aired, however, the Doctor pretty much fixed the damage with a few switch flips at the console in the span of, I don't know, maybe ten seconds?

OOPS.

SO RETCON TIME. While the Doctor will probably still blame the slow repairs on the fact that the TARDIS isn't healing itself, we'll also be using the excuse that his memories on how to repair the damage himself are locked away via Island Voodoo Whatsit. (Why yes, I'm stealing this plot point from the Third Doctor.)

Also, I've been working under the assumption that the Doctor has been moving the TARDIS from cave to cave every couple of weeks or so -- literally moving, no jumping through the time vortex or anything. I assume the perception filter is enough that no one would really notice a surprise flying blue box, which seemed to be the case in The Runaway Bride? And he probably does it in the dead of night, when most people are sleeping -- and obviously when the members of Team TARDIS are around.

Also also, since this wasn't addressed in canon -- I've been assuming that the hole in the TARDIS is visible only from the inside. That is to say, someone outside of the TARDIS would only see a regular police box; anyone who happens to be inside the console room, however, can see the damage.

B-but I'm open to suggestions on both topics.
