[There is definitely something off about the plague doctor today. First, he was a bit suspicious of the pumpkins, though found them rather pleasant and curiously well-made. Then he thought he caught a glimpse of one of the old villagers faces on one, but quickly moved on and tried to block it out of his mind

[Well, this was an odd sight. Sandrath paused in his sight-seeing to watch the man destroy the pumpkin.]

...I was going to offer my assistance but it seems you're having no issue there.

[There's a muffled huffing coming from under the mask, which is now flecked with pumpkin bits and seeds.]

Quite. A simple task. Thank you for the potential assistance, though.

[He peers up at him. Must be another wave of new residents at this keep?]

[The fallen arch-angel stepped over to survey the damage and casually reached over to flick off some pieces of pumpkin.]

Do you do this often? Smashing pumpkins?

[Malkus blinks, fidgeting a bit as he brushes off the remaining chunks of squash.]

No, not quite. That was the first time, to be honest. Hopefully the last. My apologies, though. I am Malkus Iverwelling.

[He does a quick, small bow before mushing at the pumpkin with his feet.]

[A smirk crept on to Sandrath's face as he shifted his hands in to his pockets.]

Well, you did a good job.

[He tilted his head a little, his eyes flickering black for a split second. Weird, he didn't get a decent reading.]

Malkus, was it? My name is Sandrath. Nice to meet you.

Pleasure to meet you, sir. I suspect you're somewhat of a new arrival here? Welcome to Holloway's Keep, if so.

[He gets kicks at the remains, shoving them aside and out of sight... Only to kneel down and grab a few seeds from the mush. Perhaps he can give them as a gift to his little student, later.]

I am. I arrived earlier today.

[He lifted an eyebrow at the name of the place.]

Holloway's Keep, huh? An interesting name.

Ah, well then I hope you enjoy your stay here. And indeed, it is... Though you'll have an easier time gathering information from others. I'm afraid I'm not one to snoop around very much.

[He scratches his chin, under his mask.]

Though I do know that the forest is to be somewhat avoided. As well as the deeper parts of the lake... I guess...

[He's still unhappy about losing Jack's ship to that stupid kraken...]

[He tilted his head slightly, trying to gauge what Malkus was.]

What are you hiding underneath that mask and clothing?

Mainly trying to keep potentially diseased air away from me. It was a rather large aspect of my profession, where I'm from.

Let me guess, you're a doctor too?

[Today, he just kept running in to them. How bizarre. But, Malkus' response did seem rather legit.]

[Odd how many doctors there are, yet people seem to keep dying!]

My profession? It is something you're not going to believe.

[He was quite serious about this.]

But, I manage a lot of people. If they don't do their job right, I fire them.

Well that does not sound very unbelievable! You sound as if you are some sort of erm-...lord. Or manager. Perhaps even a general of some sort.

[He nods as he tries to think of more jobs.]

Well, all the same I'm sure that level of responsibility must be stressing at times.

[This guy's got some of Malkus' respect for being able to manage more than three rocks and a pumpkin.]

[He shifted his gaze to his surroundings for a moment.]

Its a hit or miss at times.

[He nods, peering over his shoulder to see what the man might be looking at.]

I imagine it would be. Still, must be quite a respectable position!
