[Action: Police Station/Private to the Major]

[It's somewhere about in the afternoon and the Doctor, sporting his lab coat and Demon Crown as always, is carrying in his hands a box. The box isn't too heavy, but given that the Doctor is putting some care into carrying it, there's something inside. He's walking over to the police station which is a ( Read more... )

[The Major was just coming back from inspecting the jail cells a little more. He'd like to find a way to reinforce them, eventually, for what he has planned, but he supposes that can wait.

As he comes out, he notices the Doctor sitting, and smirks a little. His smirk just grows as he notices the package, as well. He doesn't know what the Doctor is intending, or the purpose of the visit, but he has no doubts it'll be amusing.

With a nod of his head, he motions for the Doctor to follow him into one of the nearby rooms, so they have a better chance to talk in private.]

[He gives a wave to the Major who had just appeared while returning that smirk to him. Come to think of it, the Doctor hasn't seen any other officers besides the Major. He isn't sure how many other officers there are in this station. It makes the Doctor wonder about the exact probability of these consecutive meetings.

But, well, that's not why he's here today. The Doctor follows the Major into one of the nearby rooms for that private chat.]

I'm afraid we couldn't meet for more casual reasons, Major, but I have something to report.

[The Major closes the door after the Doctor enters, taking a seat and motioning for the Doctor to take one as well.]

Do you, my friend?

And what might that be.

[His eyes dart between keeping focus on the Doctor and towards the box. He doesn't doubt the meeting has something to do with the contents within.]

[But before sitting, the Doctor opens the box and spills its contents onto the table in the room. From the moment he opened the box, the stench of a burnt animal spread through the room. A charcoal black owl, or what vaguely looks like one, has rolled out of the box and now lies on the table in plain view.

If the Major would look closely, he would see that the owl is carrying a camera.]

This.

[The Major picks the bird up, examining it in his hands as he speaks. His smile widens a bit more, interest clearly piques.]

It would seem our friend ended up taking a trip to a hotter climate than he was expecting.

A shame. He seems as if he was quite ready for some sight seeing.

Oh, I agree completely. He wasn't too lucky when he was hit by that first flash of lightning. Then his fortune just dropped to null by the time he was hit with the fifth and sixth. Weather. This is why I'm not a meteorologist.

[But the Doctor was extremely lucky has he managed to spot one of these birds perching on a branch just near his house. It knew how to hide itself and would have gotten away with it if the sun hadn't reflected off of the lens.]

Somebody is spying on me.

Oh no. One often doesn't take into account the possibility of nature itself acting against it.

[The Major sets the bird down, pushing it back towards the Doctor.]

Indeed? Do you have any clues as to who that might be?

Unfortunately, no. My little demonstration during the zombie outbreak attracted many attendees, all employing unique means of stopping me. It could just as well be any one of them.

I see.

Not Sto Helit, the Fraulein you met. As incredible an opponent as she is, technology wouldn't appear to be her forte. The animal messengers, perhaps I could maybe see. But not the use of technology.

Perhaps another scientist then. Or an assassin.

[And that was the key word right there. "Assassin". Out of everybody that the Doctor met, there was only one person that he specifically referred to as an "assassin". Granted, there were other assassins helping defend the hospital. Snipers, specifically. But Mr. Mundy didn't seem like he employed animal spies when he should have during his time in the hospital.

There was one man who remained a total mystery to the Doctor out of everybody he met. He understood Susan quite well through their conversation. But there was another who flat-out refused to share anything about his own identity and sought out only the Doctor's death in the swiftest manner possible.

It's that man who's behind this, no doubt. The Doctor grins. It seems that entertainment has took it upon itself to rendezvous with the often bored tyrant this time.]... There was a man in black suit whose methods seemed traditional until he fired a gun that completely nullified my powers. His hair seemed messy and it's been some time since he shaved. Oh? I hadn't known such a man was in town.

[Though he isn't very surprised. And he's far from distraught or disappointed over the result. If the man also seemed to take it upon himself to be some kind of hero, taking down those who seemed to align themselves with "evil".

It'd been so long since the Major had seen a man like this, like the Doctor was describing. He wished, greatly, to see one again.]

I can see that!

Well then....I suppose I might know who to look out for! After all, I can't have someone terrorizing another one of our citizens!

Can I?

Of course not! Not especially when this man insists on hindering progress. That alone is a grave offense.

And by the by... What do you plan to do once you find him?

Oh.

I believe an example should be made, for others who would act in such a way.

Don't you think?

... Even kings must make the difficult decision to tie an offender to a chariot and drag him across the streets every now and then. As an example, Major.

It's for the greater good, of course. Even if they might not understand at first.

The pains men such as us must take.

But such are the necessary sacrifices that must be made for a proper society to germinate. It can't be helped.

[He raises a right hand and wipes his eyes as if he was holding back a few teardrops. It doesn't take much for that treacherous smile and chuckle to stamp out any indication of genuine regret into oblivion.]

Hehehe... Ah, pardon me. There was something in my eye.
