So after I posted, the place I applied at phoned me and asked if I could come in today, I figured it'd just be for a couple of hours to get acquainted with the place.
WRONG!
I ended up there 8 hours, with about 20 minutes of training and no supervisor. And I mean, that's not too bad, it's just washing dishes, right? Well, it got pretty busy once dinner hit, and well, I just couldn't keep up. Thankfully the kitchen staff was understanding and helped me out when they could (which they had more of than they should have, since I kept leaving them without plates or anything to cook on). Pretty much everybody there said that they shouldn't have had me working my first day that night. It got less hectic as the night went on, but I just don't know if I can do this on a regular basis, especially with my knee and feet acting up as much as they have been lately. Damn my feet hurt.
The guy I talked to in the morning (who left about 40 minutes after I got there) is phoning me tomorrow to check in with how things went, and I think I'm going to tell them I can't do it.
