[There's just the video posting footage, with no lead in or explanation at all. The angle is fairly steady, and you can make out the fact that it's the inmate showers. The very first shot is of Perry Dawsey hitting Rex in the face, before wrenching off Rex's ventilator because it's getting in the way. There's a fair bit of noise. Perry is yelling ( Read more... )

[SIGH.] Right. My room or level zero. You've one minute, before I come find you. If I'm forced to come find you, rest assured I'll be shooting first.

[Such a quick response.] Where are you? [Sound of footsteps.] Because your room is preferable to being attacked by a warden in zero. [Like say... Rex's warden.]

My flat.. Forty-three seconds now.

[Pause.] You wouldn't seriously shoot me, would you? I'm not even armed.

Eames, seriously. [Crane's on the right floor now, just hesitating.]

I'd rather not be forced to take such measures, but I will if you leave me no alternative.

[And knocking on Eames door. Then stepping back from it.]

[Eames thrusts the door open immediately, standing on the opposite side of it. He's out of the way enough to allow Crane room to enter, looking absolutely livid. He says nothing.]

There's a logical explanation for all of this. [Crane says quickly as he enters the room.] The wardens weren't doing anything. When I heard about Dawsey's plan when I ran into him, I didn't have any choice but to do what I did.

[Eames shuts the door and locks it behind him, turning away from Crane to do so. As he moves past his inmate and into his room to take a seat, he refuses to look at him and is still silent, waiting for Crane to join him and offer the truth in explanation -- or until he needs to interject.]

[Crane would normally consider the locked door a good development, but considering Eames' current demeanor he didn't. He kept on talking, quickly.]

I couldn't have warned the wardens. Dawsey would have killed me. You know that's true, because of last time. [Crane pauses, getting a breath.] Besides, it's only Rex. It doesn't count.

[Eames' livid expression flicks up to Crane at the last remark and he speaks up almost immediately, to prevent Crane from saying any more.]

"You have four choices. The first, is you spend a week locked in my room with me and your filters remain as they are-- gone. Second, you spend a week in Zero without visitors, your filters remain as you are, and all contact with Edward and Hayley is suspended for a week's time as well, possibly more. Third, you may not enter the lab for at least six months and I gain access to every filter you have for as long as I feel it is necessary. Fourth, you may choose not to be punished at all."

[The warden glances at his watch, then stands.] "Have a seat. You've five minutes to decide."

[Crane just stares at Eames for a long moment. He doesn't trust this idea of choosing punishments. It seems like a trap.]

[He does sit down though and considers the options. Considering how delicate the situation was with Hayley at the moment, being out of contact with her wouldn't bode well. Not to mention the potential of confrontation by Rex's warden in zero. The third option cut off his lab access, which Crane would prefer didn't happen. Even if it involved more time with Capa. The fourth choice was obviously a trap. But Crane was curious what type of trap it was.]

How is it possible to choose not to be punished? [Crane gives Eames a hard look.] What's the catch?

"Consider it a test of your character." [Eames flashes him a very brief smirk, then his face is solemn again.] "I trust you not to choose that option, even though I've offered it."

[The warden moves over toward the counter on the opposite side of the room, reading over one of the papers there and then shifting the page to read one of the others. He's trying to calm himself and give Crane time to think simultaneously.]

[Well, that was obviously a trap. Crane immediately wrote off option four. Which left the choice between zero and Eames. And considering that zero cut off all contact with Hayley and Nygma, Crane wasn't about to choose it.]

Option one means that we're both going to have a very boring week. [Crane said, shrugging slightly. Watching Eames rifle through the papers.] I let Dawsey do it for your benefit as well. Wasn't watching Rex get killed cathartic?
