But Ryuuken, they're actually pretty cute when it comes down to it! No need to be so mean to them now.

Kurosaki, they are disgusting hairballs that serve no purpose and, incedentally, are consuming our medical supplies. I don't see what you find so "cute" about them.

But we can always get new ones when we arrive in Bellcius! And they are rather cute, eating stuff aside. I don't see why we need to be so horrible to them.

"Cute" is not a sufficent reason for allowing them to eat supplies -- supplies that I'm sure I don't need to remind you that our patients might need before we reach Bellcius?

They will be terminated with extreme prejudice dealt with.

But Ryuuuuukeeeeen... couldn't we just keep them or something? And then sell them off when we reach Bellcius? We'd make a fortune with them!

DON'T YOU BUT RYUUKEN HIM. IT IS COMPLETELY INEFFECTIVE. doctor_is_out March 28 2009, 01:06:36 UTC
In case you haven't noticed, the population is entirely out of control, and eating everything in sight. Regarding selling them in Bellcius...do you realize the consequences of what you are suggesting? Not only would they be plagueing this ship, but if they were set loose in the capital city of Ivona, they would quickly become an epidemic.

IT WAS WORTH A SHOT OKAY. >: daddys_bear March 28 2009, 01:46:48 UTC
But we could warn them when we sell it to them! And then that danger would be erased out!

HAVE YOU EVER SEEN "GREMLINS", KUROSAKI? OBVIOUSLY NOT OR YOU WOULD KNOW EXACTLY WHY THAT WOULD FAIL doctor_is_out March 28 2009, 20:05:33 UTC
You fail to take into account human nature, Kurosaki. There would inevitably be some mistake: someone, whether out of kindness, ignorance, or simple carelessness, would feed one. That is all it would take to launch an infestation. If you intend to doom Bellcius to a plague of cooing furballs that are all but impossible to eradicate, then do not let me stand in your way.

NO. ISSHIN HAS NEVER SEEN THIS 'GREMLIN' BEFORE. daddys_bear March 28 2009, 20:19:04 UTC
Then we could send them to the Badlands! They could be part of the exotic wildlife there!

YOU SHOULD. IT IS RELEVANT TO THIS PLOT. doctor_is_out March 28 2009, 20:49:58 UTC
...if they found a town, the exact same thing would happen as in Bellcius. If we abandoned them in the desert, they would simply die out.

...really? daddys_bear March 28 2009, 20:51:41 UTC
Its better than just killing then outright...

Yes. Also, creepy!Ryuuken is creepy as hell. doctor_is_out March 28 2009, 21:04:30 UTC
Unwilling to deal the killing blow, Kurosaki? They will die regardless, whether by your hand, mine, or that of nature. A quick death is kinder than a slow one of starvation and exposure, is it not?

This brings them back to the days of their bounty-hunting. daddys_bear March 28 2009, 21:05:58 UTC
Maybe so, but sometimes a quick death isn't a good thing to give.

Reply

Yes, it does. AUGH RYUUKEN HAS CHANGED SO MUCH TT_TT WE NEED TO BACKLOG THEM YOUNG SOMETIME. doctor_is_out March 28 2009, 21:14:10 UTC
Not always. no. But in this situation, unless an alternative is presented, I will do what I must to keep this ship's supplies intact.

Reply

Yes, yes we do. daddys_bear March 28 2009, 21:16:07 UTC
As ruthless as ever, aren't you?

"Spare the rod, spoil the child." *shudder* OH GOD SO CREEPY. HE IS ALL COLD LOGIC~~~ doctor_is_out March 28 2009, 21:30:18 UTC
I am willing to do what must be done without meaningless sentimentality. Perhaps some would call that ruthlessness.
