The first cut must be made with delicate care if the subject is to pull through as I hope it will. It may be dispassionate to refer to the patient as "it" but a clinical approach in all such matters is best, I find.
While a sharper implement would be the usual choice, I like the blunted knife better for such situations. It has more of an honest fell, though I'm certain that it would be excruciating in any other such situation. I also choose to use no anesthetic as my budget is a bit overdone this week; no pain no gain!
The first cut is accurate and done, the innards oozing out of the slice and making a nice puddle as the heat inside wafts up about me. I cannot resist smiling as that delicious aroma stretches up about me....
...I do so love a good grilled cheese sandwich!
