eww, yucky way for her to die but oh well, makes for suspense and all that good stuff. alshaia is really taking a central role at this point, which is good providing that you keep her character as complex as it is right now. granted she also has the potential to develop a lot more, but right now besides for thad and be she seems like the only one who could really lead the plot, purely out of how much time you've spent with her as the center of the narrative.
doting on the main characters helps a lot, ne? in my novel i try to travel back to the perspective of ryn (my guillible protagonist) once in a while, even though his is quite boring in comparison to a lot of my other characters. he's really a rather pronounced wimp when one comes down to it. oh well...happens.
anyways, one item i'm hoping for clarification on soon is what this whole violet order business is exactly. do they exist simply to fight cain? what group founded them? who are they associated with now? lots of questions...
anyways....getting kind of late. perhaps another comment tonight, perhaps tomorrow. i think i'll at least read the next chapter over right now though.
