I do hear there's an established clinic, which may help. However organizing, I wouldn't be too sure. Most healers can sense problems. Perhaps some aura-reading will help.

I'm one of the regular workers at the Clinic. If aura-reading could help determine who may need help that would be better than leaving everything until it was too late, but then with the work such screening would entail that would put a strain on the healers, wouldn't it?

New healers do tend to have a bit of trouble reading auras, but it does take practice. The only trouble is, most have the potential of reading auras, but not everyone is capable of reading injuries or ailments.

I could see about teaching people how to read auras, but I can't guarantee they can see ailments, as many Tyrian healers can.

That's unfortunate. Maybe if we could find a way to set up something else, too...

And could you please explain more about auras, if you don't mind? I'm afraid I don't know much about anything magical.

This... world is very different from mine. I don't know all the differences between here and Tyria yet. Something else may be the best plan of action.

Auras are essentially the natural energy a person has around them. This energy field can bend and curve and change shape and color depending on how the person's feeling. Learning to read these changes helps monks to be able to read auras and learn what sort of ailments may have occurred. This works very well on reading large injuries. Small ones, such as cuts, are very difficult to read.

Back to square one, then. I'd say we need some sort of administration, but with how unruly some of the people here are I'd doubt the effectiveness of one. On the other hand, that's all the more reason for a little order...

I see. So if anybody wants to learn, they could at least have some chance. Do you think I could learn? I don't know much about how magic works, but I do have some that allows me to focus when I need it.

It does seem to be very unruly. There is little order here and very little society. Some sort of administration would be very helpful.

Yes, I have yet to meet someone who isn't capable of at least learning some sort of magic. Being a medic, you're probably attuned to holy and can use healing magics. I could certainly teach you focusing and a few healing spells on the side.

I'm fairly sure I've heard of talk of some kind of council, so if anything happens with that, that might be an improvement; with the diversity here, though, we're going to really have to work for a strong system. We don't have the hundreds of years countries do.

I'd be delighted if you could something like that--it never hurts to know more.

This is, of course, assuming the council isn't as corrupt as the current management here. Hopefully it will have good, strong leadership.

I would be happy to. Just let me know when and where.

Corruption, here...I think the bigger worry would be the fuss over corruption than the actual corruption, with some of the abilities people have here. It's not a pretty thought.

I'm usually in the Clinic, or the library on occasion. Any time you're will be fine--I don't want to intrude on your schedule.

Very true indeed. Chaos is often worse than the corruption itself.

Any time is fine. I spend most of my days in the library. I would be happy to help out in the clinic as well.

[ooc: thread perhaps? either's fine with me :D]

How about the library in around an hour? I've been meaning to look around again anyway.

(OOC: Sure? I need a thread for him anyway, plus I should be writing up another one too.)

Sounds good. You wouldn't happen to have a staff or something magical with you would you? I'm running out of staves.

[ooc: works for me. too bad the poor monk is running out of focusing staves. he only has 3 XD]

...A scalpel or some kind of other instrument wouldn't work, would it? I don't have anything with magic on it at all--the Healing Touch doesn't require anything but concentration.

I'm not sure. It may have some magical properties or simply serve as a good focusing item. There are all sorts of focus items, scrolls, cups, the like. Anything is possible.

[ooc: i can start the log now, but i'll be running out the door in about 10 minutes XD]

Oh. I might be able to find something like that, then.

(OOC: Nah, don't worry. I'll start.)
