At its base, communism is rooted in the wish for true equality - everyone would have access to the same food, and theoretically, no one would go hungry. Of course, they also believe that the only way to achieve this overall classless society is for the working class to overthrow the bourgeoisie and create it.
This, if you know anything about human nature, is only slightly less likely than, say, ascension to Godhood. [PS: If you don't stop him, Hiccup, he will talk your ear off. Just sayin'.]
