First Symptom (Backdated to like... the 13th of Feb or something SOB)

[Welcome to your new place, hm? This is not exactly the morning wakeup he expected. He certainly hadn't gone to bed with a partner, and certainly not a female partner. And, on top of that... this was definitely not his lavish bed, or his dark room... how peculiarA quick exploration reveals the reason - indeed, this is a house not at all like his ( Read more... )

...!

[Silence occasionally listens to the phone, even if he can't respond, but he hadn't expected to hear that voice on the line. But intense frustration sets in as he realizes he can't reply. He can't let Nusakan know he's on the other end of the line, can't ask for directions to wherever he is...he can't do anything.

Being mute doesn't often bother him, but it's always painful when it does, and this particular situation is agonizing.]

[The doctor was prepared for a lot of things. Startled resistance, confusion, maybe even laughter. But complete silence? The other party hasn't dropped the receiver, either, and that's as telling as anything. They had spent an awful lot of time together, after all.]

... Silence?

[It's rhetorical, of course. If it is Silence, then he won't be able to answer. If not... either it will draw a reaction from someone on the other line, or he'll just remain confused. There's a moment of shuffling, as though Nusakan is trying to find something.]

Come to 1228 Taylor Road.

[Silence is utterly startled to hear his name. Could Nusakan read him that well? Really? Enough to recognize his lack of sound? Or was it just an idle precaution, from having spent so much time with him?

Still, relief quickly overtakes his bemusement; now, at least, he has an address. He can do something. Rather than questioning the good fortune - or incredible foresight, on Nusakan's part - he'll slip quickly out of his house and make his way through town, looking for Taylor Road and then, once he finds it, the correct house. He knocks rather urgently on the front door.]

[Honestly? Even without factoring in Nusakan's interest in Silence, the answer is yes - he can read him that well. After all, a doctor must know everything about his patient to properly diagnose and treat them. It's as clear to him as the soft click when the receiver cuts off.

The knocking is answered almost immediately - and the man standing behind it is definitely Nusakan. His lips quirk in pleased amusement - though his eyes show surprise. After all, his... friend appears to be missing his wings. To be able to go so far as to remove something like that, something so indicative of his nature...]

Come in, we can speak inside.

[It's empty, right now - the 'wife' is out at her job, as are his supposed children - or so it appears. The house itself is in slight disarray, as the doctor has been organizing it more to his liking. Closing the door behind him, he indicates the couch in the living room - there's already a small notepad and a pen lain on the table in front of it.]

[Silence looks deeply and unreservedly relieved to see Nusakan. Being human and wingless in a strange place is distressing enough without being alone; having a friend here with him is at least some meager reassurance.

He sits down on the couch, noting the paper and pen with an amused quirk of an eyebrow. You really do think of everything.

He's able to lean back against the couch without his wings to crush, though he has to consciously remind himself of the fact. And he looks a little uncomfortable doing so, regardless.]

[Lip quirking slightly, he shrugs. In the job description. His attention quickly wanes from the missing wings, knowing that it's likely awkward enough for Silence without having attention called to them repeatedly.

... Then again, it is a little difficult to not think of them when things like being able to lean back without worry, isn't it? Bemused, he shakes his head.]

Perhaps you should sit as though you still have them? [Small smile.] Since you're used to it anyway.

[Silence smiles a bit, picking up the notepad and beginning to write.] WAS TOLD MISSING THINGS WILL BE GIVEN BACK EVENTUALLY. MAY AS WELL MAKE MOST OF FLEETING OPPORTUNITY?

[Bemused, he nods to the words.]

A fair point. [Beat.] I'll admit - I'm a little surprised that you seem to be taking this so well. But then... when you have no choice, that is often what happens, hm?

[Silence makes a face. I'm not taking it well. It was worse when I first arrived, but...what is there that I can do?

He scribbles some more.] AM TOLD THINGS TAKEN CAN BE GOTTEN BACK EVENTUALLY. JUST HAVE TO WAIT.

I suppose that is the case. But you're not having a tantrum, as many would do in your situation, no?

[Taking a seat, he tilts his head.] Is there anything else of note, though? I presume you've also been given a human body, considering that is the case with my own...

[Silence arches an eyebrow.] SEEM YOUNG ENOUGH COMPARED TO YOU WITHOUT CHILDISH BEHAVIOR. MAY BE ONLY 400, BUT NOT A BABY.

YES, HUMAN BODY. SPELLS, WEAPONS, CLOTHES, ALL GONE. [He gives Nusakan a questioning look.] HOW IS IT EVEN POSSIBLE? MYSTICISM ≠ REVERSIBLE.

[Nusakan's grin reveals that he was more looking for Silence's slight irritation in being considered so young.]

Of course not. You needn't be young to act like a child, though. Ask Zozma.

[He sobers again, though, shaking his head.] I wish I knew. Biologically, our bodies are completely human... if nothing else, it would take a powerful magic to revert someone to a human form - and even more powerful magic to force someone inhuman to lose those properties. There are too many questions and not nearly enough answers.

[Silence huffs, just as he knows Nusakan loves. The exasperation is genuine, even if his reaction is slightly overdone simply because he knows it amuses his friend.

He glances up at Nusakan as the man continues, eyebrows lifted in question. So for the moment...we simply wait until things are returned to us in due course? There don't seem to be any other options.]

[And it isn't like the doctor is unaware that the overreaction is intentional, honestly. It amuses him that the other mystic still indulges him in them, too.

At the question, he nods, arching one brow in reply. What other choice do we have?]
