Screw You Guys, I'm Playing Brawl

WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

So anyways, I got to spend time with Brawl today! And right off the bat, let me tell you it's freaking different. Moves I could pull off in Melee just ain't there, but likewise attacks that were almost useless in Melee's speed are now easy to do in Brawl. It's still buckets of fun and I can't wait to go back and improve my game.

To get the jump on the game I first started off as Pikachu, my main across the previous two. Down smash and Thunder are even MORE annoying and effective, and both were my favorite attacks in Melee, so it's nice to see them buffed. I couldn't land anything with his up smash though, then again I'm fighting epic Wolf/Pit/Metaknight players all night.

As a Sonic fanboy, I had to play him--it's nice. His homing attack is surprisingly effective in setting up attacks but his spin dashes are useless. All the fun comes from his smashes and his speed--they're extremely quick with puny range, great power and decent priority. Of course, Sonic only has priority on earth because as soon as he's airborne everyone eats his freaking attacks so high priority wonders like Yoshi and Luigi are his worst nightmare. Still, Sonic is fun to play and if I can control the blue dude's speed it will work wonders for when I claim the game as my own.

I'm starting to love Lucas. The little man is the next Negi Springfield with the amount of ass he kicks. I love all his Smashes since the forward comes out quick, the up is the most lethal and the down is epic. His specials are great for camping and being annoying, and furthermore he compliments my playstyle, since I like to hit and run a lot. Ness was decent in 64 but I disliked him in Melee and I still dislike him here. He's too hard to control his specials and I still don't like his smashes. Lucas has him owned right here.

I played R.O.B. Hits hard, a bit too slow for my tastes but I see him being really good. Other characters that were awesome in hands that weren't mine were Metaknight, Ike, Pit, and Wolf.

Speaking of the last two it turns out the guy who has the game mains him, and being on the receiving end of this bastard is both not fun and epic at the same time. Yeah I said it again. Wolf is a completely different beast than Fox or Falco and as such he hits much harder than the other two and tends to rush foes in his attacks rather than footspeed. I can't even remember how many times I've been juggled by the bastard! Pit's even worse in that regard because of all that freaking arrow spamming and him being a complete beast in the air. The holy Pit is best engaged on the ground.

Triple Dededes with his theme song on the background was hilarious, but Dedede's too slow for my tastes and I still suck with him.

Pokemon Trainer was different and I scored a victory with him, but that was more to my cunning than me actually being good. Charizard's a beast and Ivysaur is fine too. Won the game with Squirtle by spamming his smashes. Needed to experiment with this guy more to get anything good.

Luigi hits harder than last time but I'm having difficulty actually landing his attacks :/

I don't like Wario's playstyle, but like Sonic all of his good stuff is in his regular attacks and all his B moves suck.

Lucario... oh man somebody I know will be pissed Mewtwo got kicked for this guy. He's not bad at all but he's floatier than I imagined and it's tough getting him to actually connect with his moves.

There will be more impressions later, but now I'm off to bed and going to prepare for the rest of the week as it adds up the ante.

i win, impressions, super smash brothers brawl
