Digital artists, Photoshop users, knowledgable people who have posted drawings --
What is a generally good canvas size (and image resolution) to start with so that when the drawing is done and posted, it's not too obnoxiously large for LJ yet it hasn't lost much detail/quality in the resizing?
It's nice to have it big while working, but smallening** my drawings for LJ is not giving me what I want. They just feel like versions of what I really drew.

**Yes, "smallening." From the verb "small" as in "to smallen." The opposite of "embiggen."
