Today, Ladies & Germs, at 3500 comic book stores across America and the world, totally FREE comic books will be distributed to the public at NO CHARGE!
That's right, FREE. COMIC BOOKS. Now, to answer some frequently asked questions:
1) No, not all the comics in the store are free for the day. Just the ones with the FREE COMIC BOOK DAY logo on them, which are usually grouped together in a designated area.
2) Although everything else is not free, most stores will be having some kind of super-huge sale in conjunction with the event, so if you see something you're interested in that's not an FCBD book, buy it anyway!
3) Yes, there is something for everyone, it's not all just for the kids. Over 41 different publishers are providing titles, so there's bound to be a book for every set of tastes. Go to www.freecomicbookday.com for a full list of what's being offered*. (*Selection varies by store. Some stores may impose a per-person limit on FCBD books. To guarantee that you get what you want, visit several different locations.)
4) To find a participating comic shop near you, visit www.freecomicbookday.com and use the FCBD Store Locator, found on the front page. Just enter your zip code, and you're one third of the way to free swag! (The other two parts being getting in your car and going to the store.)
(Also, for those of you who might not already know, I recently asked Megan to marry me. She said "probably," which, trust me on this, is a good answer. But that's besides the point. It's FREE COMIC BOOK DAY, people!)
(Oh, and go see SPIDER-MAN 3 while you're at it. Thanks.)
