Lecture 13: Welcome to my Kingdom

Dec 28, 2011 10:58

[The Doctor has experienced quite a haul for Christmas. Not only did he get what appeared to look like a stone throne, he also received just the thing he needed to speed up his base's construction: a digger battle robot. It seemed to respond to his command just fine. Perhaps it was just as susceptible to the Demon Crown's power which, admittedly, ( Read more... )

[Out of curiosity, Theo shows up, only to have to fend his way through the labyrinth that's suddenly show up. He eventually pops out of a tunnel into the Doctor's room, looking annoyed.]

THERE you are. Jesus H. Christ, what IS this?

This, Theo? Hmhm...

[Yes, he must have had to walk quite a while to get to the conference room. Once the defenses are set up and activated, though, any intruder just may have a more difficult time. The labyrinths of the Floating Island had a big role in the Doctor's blueprints for his defenses.]

Why, it's our new base of operations. It's our sanctuary safe from the nonsense that happens in the town.

[He got lost as hell. It's taken him awhile to get here.]

For awhile I thought this was Mayfield's bullshit. You couldn't have built this here - did Mayfield return it to you?

... What are you talking about? Of course I built this here. It took a month and quite a bit of manpower, but here we are... with our own base.

I imagine we can endure another nuclear blast with this on our side.

I'm surprised it only took a month. Damn. I'm surprised you got away with it.

Works for me. Something to get away from Mayfield's bullshit is fine by me.

It wasn't that difficult. I had the drones take care of the busywork and commanded them from afar. You'd be surprised with just the sort of labor you can get for free with the right incentive.

Of course, it's not yet finished. I'm planning on building passageways throughout the town.

Well... Good work, I guess. Hopefully they won't take it away from you.

Also, you really ought to make a map of this place.

A map? Hm...

[He ponders the thought and scratches at his chin, but only briefly.]

I would prefer that such a thing not fall into the hands of unwanted eyes, but... well, I suppose there's no harm in keeping inside the base.

I trust that you can engrave it on your memory afterward?

Either that, or just show me the way outta here so I can remember.

... Very well, there's no harm in pointing you towards the right directions.

By the by, I feel now that the new year is approaching, this is our opportunity to... well, make ourselves known. Leave an impression.

[[OOC: It's no problem at all!]]

We'll leave a message on the town to let them all know that we are indeed here. And as long as there is no escape from this town, just the same, there is no escaping us.

Personally, going mano a mano against the other resistance groups sounds like a champion idea too.

The resistance groups are a crock of shit. It would be almost too easy to roll over them.
