I am returning to New Mexico, and am not sure how long it will be before I'm back. If everything goes according to plan then hopefully I can find a door within a few days. I appreciate the hard work each of you does while I'm away. Not having to worry while I'm gone means more than I can admit to. Thank you.

If I don't get back, then remember that I'm proud of you and proud to have fought beside you...and remember that if you try to do anything stupid, I will find a way to get back and haunt your ass. Ask bar for a copy of Poe's 'El Dorado', sometime. It's a good read.

I'm going back to New Mexico for awhile. Things may not go so well, but I've got a plan and if things work out...I'll be back soon. Don't let the bar burn down while I'm gone, alright? When I get back, we need to catch up.

Katherine does not get a note, but the next time she approaches the bar, she will find a small, dark brown, leather-bound journal waiting for her. It's not his, but it's nearly the same, just less worn, with clean, crisp pages waiting to be filled.
However, when she opens it, she'll find the pages fall in a certain manner, and there is writing on the very last page in dark blue ink:
Destiny is no matter of chance. It is a matter of choice. It is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved.
