Polish Cavalry
My Grandmother's Polish. One of the old Polish jokes told in the Polish side of my family is that the Poles had the greatest cavalry in WWII (pause) ....they also had the ONLY cavalry in WWII.
That pretty much summed up the Polish self image, brave, violent, and dumb as rocks. Riding horses against Hitler's war engine. Almost as dumb as the screen doors in the submarines.
What I didn't know is that of the Polish cavalry charges, most of them were successful.
