Hello people!
Mom woke me up around 10:00 this morning.
She chatted with me about the plans for the day and then she went downstairs. I got online for a bit and worked on the next chapter of "Black & White." I'd started it last night and it came out GREAT. I finshed it today and I just absolutely love it. I'm just really proud of this story. I went downstairs and took a shower, then got ready to go with mom.
I had a breakfast sandwich that dad got for me from Subway. It was fantastic. Those things ROCK. Mom and I finally left around 1:00 and I drove the entire time. It was fun. A little scary, as it always is when [a] I have to drive fast (speed limit was 55 where we were) and [b] mom's in the car, but still enjoyable. We went to a candy shop in Schuylerville first. I got some jawbreakers and mom got us toffee.
It's AMAZING. We haven't had toffee in quite a while and it's just so damn good. We also got some peanut butter truffles for the boys. Then we went to a used bookstore in town. It was so adorable! And very organized! I loved how sorted everything was. I couldn't find any
John Lange books, nor could I find the Nightmare on Elm Street novels, but I picked up two Crichton books (Timeline and Congo).
I also got a couple horror novels, including a Clive Barker book - I LOVE Clive Barker's Undying, so I thought I might like some of his other stuff. I know it tends to be kinda gory, but there's a difference, for me, between gory words and gory scenes. I suck at visualization, so the words mean very little to me. But seeing them played out, THAT is something I have trouble with.
Anywho, we were there for a while, and there was a kitty there, so I cuddled it for a few minutes. Mom and I went upstairs, where there were historical books, biographies, cultural and travel books and home improvement books. Mom walked along the bookcase that housed the home improvement books and I walked with her for a minute. I got bored and walked to the aisle behind her.
It had the historical books there - stuff about Egypt and Greece and whatnot - and I perused those. Mom finished looking and turned to me to say something. I turned to her and we both stopped: there was a fairly tall stack of books (about twelve books high) right in the middle of the aisle. I would have had to walk around it to get to the historical books. Except it wasn't there before.
I swear to you, there was no pile of books there a minute before, when I stepped into the aisle. Then, I looked to mom's right, where she had been standing not two minute earlier, and saw a book lying on the floor, open. Mom hadn't touched it, nothing had fallen, and we were the only two people in the store besides the owner, who was downstairs. I picked up the book and looked at the cover.
It contained poetry, which was on a shelf down the aisle next to the one I was in. I put it down on the pile and we went back downstairs. We both think there was some kind of supernatural being there or something, we really don't know how else to explain it. We bought our books and went to a little pizza place close-by. I got some chicken tenders and mom got a salad.
Good stuff. It was a LOVELY day today - 60 degrees - and we put the windows down on the ride home. We stopped at the store real quick and picked up what we needed, then went home. Unfortunately, we realized after we got home that we forgot a couple things. Nick came with me back out to the store and we got what we needed. I wore a tank top and flip flops and was comfortable! XD <3
When we got back home, I fed the pets and started laundry for mom, then took a bath cuz my legs were hurting for some reason. Dad came home and I joined teh rents in the living room around 7:30 for Jeopardy!. Then we watched Wipeout, where the title of this post is from, and Bones, which was adorable and sad and awesome. Now, we're FINALLY going to bed. I'm exhausted, yo.
Love y'all - Mira/Doc/Kat *meow*
