Wait a Minute, You Just Said Something... I Did? Was It Smart?

Hello people!

I'm almost positive I had dreams last night, but...

I can't remember...ugh. I got up at 7:00 today and went downstairs just as mom bolted into the bathroom to take her shower. What's infuriating is that I told her last night that I was getting up at 7:00 so I could take my shower, and she got up at 4:30 this morning. She had plenty of time to take a shower, but she didn't. It just bugged me, lol.

Anyway, she took, like, ten, fifteen minutes for her shower, so I read The Andromeda Strain. It's gotten interesting, but the one thing I don't like so much about Crichton books is the huge globs of science or technical jargon stuffed into the story. I understand that it's all relevant and is probably very easy to understand if you know anything about either topic, but for me? It's confusing and boring and drags.

But I'm getting through it, cuz the actual plot has been very good so far. I took my shower and got dressed, then packed my bag with my book and schedule to head to school. Mom dropped me off about an hour later than I wanted, but it's okay. I went straight to the financial aid office and picked up my work study packet. Then I went across the way to the Student Center.

They were doing orientation today; you get your handbook, your ID, a tour and a free t-shirt and food. I didn't wanna bother with the tour since I know where most of the buildings are and I know exactly where my classes are (three of them are in the same building!), so I got my ID, handbook and t-shirt, then I went around campus, asking all the places listed in my work study packet if they were hiring.

You see, you had to go to every single office that usually offers work study and ask if it's available. So I did. And 99% of them were filled by people who had those jobs last year and were returning to them this year. I finally caught a break at the library, where the librarian told me that she only has two people returning and will possibly have a place for me once she hears from the administrators.

She asked me to leave my name and to call her next Thursday or Friday to ask if I got the work study position. After that, I scoped out the buildings where my classes are - they're both very close to each other, very close to the cafeteria, and one of them is named Scoville, which I've renamed Scofield in my head. ;] I was done surprisingly early, so I went back to the Student Center.

There was a place to sit outside the center so I popped a squat and spent the next hour reading The Andromeda Strain, waiting for mom to finish her work meeting and pick me up. It was decent, but after a while I got a little bored. Mom finally came and got me and took me home. Dad left for work almost immediately after I got home. Then Nick left for work. I did the dishes and laid down on the couch.

I'd been feeling nauseous all morning and I just wanted to chill out for a bit. I wound up sleeping for an hour or so, and then I watched four or five eps of Prison Break. They were fantastic and GOD, how I've missed them. I've only got a few eps left and I'm so sad it's gonna end soon. :'3 I'm actually considering re-watching season one again...I just love it so much. I've also been missing Heroes lately...

Um, anywho, when I was done with Prison Break for the day, I fed the pets dinner, did some laundry, etc. Mom came home and I made myself a grilled cheese sandwich for dinner. Then I watched Charmed (title of this post is from it) while mom did some work in the office. She got an offer on her listing today! She's meeting with the home-owner now to present and negotiate the offer with them.

Nick just got home and I'm doing a whole lot of nothing at the moment. I'm actually kinda bored, but there's nothing for me to do...mom will be home pretty soon, and dad'll be home not too long after that. *shrugs*

Love y'all - Mira/Doc/Kat *meow*
