Hello people!

I got up at 7:30 today.

I went downstairs and joined mom on the couch. Dad chilled in my chair and we finished watching The Fantastic Mr. Fox. I really liked it. Mom didn't, but I thought it was hilarious and really cute. :3 I kinda wanna buy it, lol. Dad left for work eventually and mom took a shower. We got dressed and went out to run ( Read more... )

I'm going to have to assume that those people were 'friends' in the casual internet way of 'you talk about something I'm interested in so and, ergo, I like reading your blog'. You stop talking about that, first they stop commenting and eventually they stop reading. I mean, not everyone on your flist thinks of you as a real friend. In some cases, you're going to be more invested in the relationship than they are, and they're simply not going to see it as dumping a friend for something as stupid and one dropped interest. They're just going to see it as tidying their flist. These particular people probably hold no malice for you, they're just not really that close.

And yeah, there are going to be people who liked you more than that but still have a problem with your interests changing. Probably because you met through a shared interest, talked mostly about that interest, and now it feels like your common ground has been ripped out from under them and they're scrambling for another connection. Maybe it's silly that these people feel betrayed or whatever it is they're feeling, but I doubt they can ignore the loss if it's really there for them. I guess you could feel flattered that they like you enough to be pissed?

I really hope you don't take this to mean that people are pretending to be friends with you, though! You're cool and I like you, and I'm sure lots of us in Internetland are here for more than the picspams. LJ and twitter make it easy to interact with people, and sometimes you can misinterpret the relative casualness of a relationship, but there are those who like you for you and not your fandoms. I don't want you to be bummed because some people cut you :-(

Thanks. :]

That makes sense, I guess. I never really thought of it like that. That's kinda depressing, LOL. X]

But thank you, I appreciate that. <3
