Hello people!
I watched my nightly hour of The Nanny last night and I realized that the more I watch, the more I love it. I've decided I want the entire series on DVD, lol. There's only three seasons, but they're sorta expensive all together, so I'll have to get them individually...
Ahem. I was woken up at 8:00 today so I could get ready for my graduation practice at school that was, to quote the emails sent home, "MANDATORY." I got up and got dressed and put my book and iPod in my bag so I'd have something to do. I spent the morning chilling and doofing around. I tried turning Tyrone on and using him and he actually worked the whole time I was online. <3
At 8:44, dad and I left for school. He dropped me off and I realized I'd forgotten my phone, so I had to borrow a friend's later to call dad and let him know when to pick me up. Anywho, I went into school and found my seat in the field house; stuck between two girls who I absolutely cannot stand. I freaking HATE them; they're the epitomy of stupid high school girls and I just wanted to strangle them the whole time, lol.
They kept talking while the administration was talking, which I find incredibly annoying. I spent the whole time reading The Lost World. God, I love it. It's so good. We did the diploma process, which requires a lot of walking and standing, lol. Thankfully, they pronounced my name right! :D Everyone usually says, "Dor-fler" instead of "Der-fler," so I'm used to mispronunciation, but they said it right!
I got a little packet with honor chords and a certificate of recognition from my Congressional Representative! :DDD SO AWESOME. We were finished with the whole thing around 10:30, so I found my friend, Amanda, and borrowed her phone to tell dad to come get me. He said he'd be a little late cuz he had to stop at the library, so I said okay and chatted with Amanda for a while.
Then I went outside and stood by the front of the school, reading my book until I saw two ambulances. One pulled into our parking lot, where I guessed a kid had fainted, and another was just outside the school on the road, where a bunch of seniors had gotten into and caused an accident. Car A had stopped, Car B didn't notice and rammed into them, and Car C had to slam on the brakes and hit Car B.
All three cars had Seniors driving. *shakes head* Stupid people. Dad was even later cuz of the accident, but he got there by 11:00 and picked me up and took me to get food. I got chicken nuggets from Chick-Fil-A and dad had to stop at Giant Eagle, so I chilled in the car and ate my lunch (and rocked out to the radio). I asked dad to get me a coffee, cuz mom was sposed to, but he didn't. :(
He told me on our way to McDonald's (where he was gonna get a burger) that he had an offer of a bunch of murals from a realtor in New York he had been talking to and he wondered if he should ditch this restaurant management job he's looking into (also in NY, of course) and do the murals, or if he should go with the management position (if he's hired) and just do that instead.
Okay, this is prolly TMI and my parents would be mad if they knew I was talking about this, but dad's self-employment has been hugely unstable for the past five years. He did get an actual job last year, but the people there were total assholes and he quit (he was going to be fired anyway). I believe that everyone should do what they WANT when they can, but we need money to support the move.
I really think dad should go with the management position because he needs the solidity, the consistency of being employed by someone else and having shifts to work and a salary. If he didn't have a family to worry about, I'd be all for him doing the murals, but we need money ASAP, ya know? I just think the management thing would be the most responsible thing to do.
I explained that to him and he got pissed off cuz he, at heart, is still a 20-year old bachelor. He's still got that mind-set, that he just wants to do nothing and have fun and be taken care of instead of doing what needs to be done, ya know what I mean? So we rode him not talking to each other and when I got inside, I went straight to my room. My monthly curse was hurtin' me, so I laid down.
I didn't really intend to take a nap, I kinda just wanted to lay down and hope that the pain would go away. Well, I fell asleep for two and a half men hours. It was pretty nice, lol. Mom was home when I got up and she and dad called me out to talk to me about graduation tomorrow. I explained that the process was gonna take a long time and it was gonna be Hellish and how I desperately don't wanna go.
Mom and dad said they don't wanna go either, and would I be devastated if we didn't bother? And I said NO, lol, I don't care. So, instead of spending (at least) three hours sitting with 500 people (half of which I don't even know and sandwiched between two people I hate), I'm gonna get a tattoo tomorrow. XD And then we're going to a bookstore, and then we're gonna go out to eat. I'm SO JAZZED. <3
Seriously, I could not think of a better way to celebrate graduating, lol. And I imagine that if someone's sick, they must have their diploma mailed to them or something, right? So I'll still get my diploma and that's all that matters. I just wish I could see Mr. Fout, Mr. DeChant, and Mr. Cecil (<3) again before I leave. I actually suggested a going-away party to dad, and he's considering it! :DDD
Would it be weird to invite super-cute guy teachers to a going-away party, lol? I don't think so. ;] ANYWHO, um, so yeah, now you're all caught up. Title of this post is from What I Like About You, which I woke up to. Lauren was trying to connect to WiFi on a Blackberry and she said that *points to title* in a panicked manner. It was hilarious. I think I'm gonna either watch TDS/TCR or SWC tomorrow...
Yeah, I'm being kinda random today. I'm gonna stop now. <3
Love y'all - Mira/Doc/Kat *meow*
