You home?

The Doctor coughed, uncertainly, glancing about; she had the address right. She had the year... close enough. It was the actions themselves she fretted over; she'd left Chloe behind, when there'd been no chance - one too many near deaths, on too many "I love you's" never said - too much chance she could die... perhaps turn into someone that Chloe ( Read more... )

Chloe was running late that day. She'd been up past sunrise coordinating missions for the League and slept through her alarm. It had only been her cousin's enthusiastic doorbell ringing that woke her up.

So there she was, leaving the apartment three hours later than usual (and still only five hours after she went to bed). The blonde opened the door and stopped in her tracks when she saw the unfamiliar redheaded woman.

"Hi," she greeted curiously. "Can I help you with something?"

"Yes! No! Maybe? ...This might have been a bad idea..."

Now, she was very curious. And slightly confused. She smiled, though, picking up on the other woman's nerves. "Any of the above?"

Something tugged at Chloe's memory. Her brow creased as she tried to pull whatever it was from the ether of her recall...and then she went a little wide-eyed. It had been years since that awkward - oh, so awkward - meeting in an alley and her random moment of nakedness, but forgettable, that experience was not. "You. You're the woman who -" Nor was it the only such experience.

Any second now, Chloe would put things together. Any second. There.

"Doctor? I need more coffee."

A small, tiny little smile. "Lots of coffee. Usually I have to make them look into my eyes a bit. What gave it away?"

"Understatement," she commented. The blonde drew back from the door and into her apartment, making a vague gesture with her hand to indicate the redhead should enter. "You mean other than the fact that you introduced yourself to me at the time as the Doctor? Frankly, I'm kicking myself for it taking that long to figure it out."

Chloe just blinked. Then worked on getting that next cup of coffee - a big one - ready.

The Doctor lets it go; for the time being. She's rolling her eyes a little at the timey whimey, though.

She traveled with the Doctor for a while, but the timey wimey still managed to confuse her. The blonde poured her coffee, then glanced over her shoulder at him...her. At her. That would take some getting used to. A lot. "Did you want any?"

No worries! :D docs_xperiment October 20 2011, 23:35:12 UTC
With lots and lots of sugar?

She picked up another cup and shook it in case the dear Doctor had somehow not heard her. The silence was starting to get uncomfortable.

The Doctor smiled slightly. "I'd love some."

Heh, I wondered about that. watchtowerchloe October 22 2011, 03:15:57 UTC
"Okay. I'm on it," she acknowledged, turning back to the pot and pouring it into the Doctor's cup. Chloe grabbed the sugar dish and handed both that and the now-full mug to the redhead.

"So. What brings you to my doorstep? And when did...this," she gestured toward the other woman, "happen?"

"A... few days ago..." She hesitates, adding sugar; a lot of sugar. "I wanted to check up on you again..."
