RIP David Warren, inventor of the 'black box' flight recorder.
He is the very definition of a great contributor to humanity: someone who begins with the given that we make mistakes, and from that makes us better able to learn from them. And his willingness to effectively give away the invention probably saved still more lives (as well as thousands of injuries and millions of lost hours.)
